Decision guide: is QuickTrack a fit for your SIP?
A short checklist to help your SIP decide whether the current QuickTrack workflow suits the way you collect, review and use output data.
Last updated About 22 hours ago
QuickTrack is optional for SEF Round 5. This guide is not a product comparison. It is a practical checklist to help your SIP decide whether the current QuickTrack workflow fits the way you work.
1. How do you want to collect outputs?
QuickTrack can support direct field capture, including multiple collectors, offline capture, evidence and extra questions. If your SIP already uses another data system, you can instead provide a structured CSV export and reuse a saved mapping for future uploads.
2. How much evidence and context do you need?
Current QuickTrack submissions can include output values, narrative/context, documents, multiple images, live photos, GPS and extra questions. SIPs can specify required evidence types and give instructions about what the evidence should show.
3. How do you want review to work?
The minimum flow is Data Collector → SIP M&E Reviewer. Optional worksite, geographic or Partner review levels can be added where useful. Reviewers can request changes, approve corrected submissions and see the submission history.
4. Do you need information beyond the contracted indicators?
QuickTrack can also track custom or non-contracted operational, administrative, financial or M&E indicators alongside the official reporting set.
5. How do you want to use the data after reporting?
Reviewed QuickTrack data can support dashboards, detailed exports, historic analysis, the SEF Public Evidence Portal, case studies, social media, programme learning and a wider evidence base for funding and partnerships.
6. What setup is required?
Your SIP completes the required Round 5 setup in Kwantu first. Brownie Points imports that structure into the existing QuickTrack workspace so the shared configuration does not need to be rebuilt. Your SIP then confirms the people and any extra operational settings it wants to use.
7. Are data collector identity and shared devices important for your SIP?
This is an area still being strengthened. If several collectors share devices, if collectors do not have individual email addresses, or if your upstream/API route does not carry collector details through automatically, confirm the operating approach with Brownie Points before rollout. Stronger collector identity and shared-device security are on the Phase 2 roadmap.
8. What is current and what is still Phase 2?
Make your decision based on the functionality available now. Features such as multi-language capture, voice recordings, batch review, automated reminders, advanced anomaly checks and other roadmap items are currently Phase 2 candidates unless the roadmap marks them Completed.
9. Cost and support
There is no system cost for SIPs to use the QuickTrack option presented for this SEF Round 5 process. SIP teams can use this Help Centre, ask Quinn questions, and escalate to the Brownie Points support team where needed. Recorded virtual training and supporting guidance can also be provided.
If your SIP chooses QuickTrack
The practical next steps are to finish the required Kwantu setup, confirm the SIP M&E Reviewer and any QuickTrack Data Collectors, decide which optional settings you need, and share a sample export if you plan to use CSV imports from an existing system.
Ask Quinn to walk you through it
You can ask Quinn questions such as:
- “We already have our own M&E system. How would QuickTrack work for us?”
- “We have many Localities and one central data person. What would our workflow look like?”
- “We have fieldworkers in low-connectivity areas. What is available now?”
- “Which features are available now and which are still on the roadmap?”
- “What would we need to set up if we choose QuickTrack?”
If your situation depends on a detail that has not been confirmed, Quinn should say so and pass the question to the Brownie Points team rather than guess.
